iPad Air 3 Setup Guide – This is the iPad Air 3 manual on how to set it up for the first time. Follow the step by step below:
iPad Air 3 Setup Guide
- First, swipe across the screen
- Choose your language, then tap on it to select.
- Choose your country
- Connect your new iPad Air 3 to the internet. Choose your network in the list, and tap on it.
- Enter the wireless password then tap Join.
- Choose the location services.
- Set up as new iPad Air 3 if this is your first iPad.
- If you had iPhone or other iPad before, you can restore a backup from your iOS devices.
- If you back up your iPad to iCloud, then you need your Apple ID and password to sign in.
- It will take a few hours for your iPad to restore the back up.
- If you have no Apple ID then you can create a new one by tapping Create a Free Apple ID.
- To create Apple ID, enter your birthday, then tap next.
- Now enter your name then tap next.
- Enter your email address. You have two options for this, use your current email address or create a free iCloud address.
- To create a free iCloud address, simply enter the address you want and tap next to proceed.
- Next, enter a rescue email address. You will need this email to help you when you lost or forgotten your password. Then, tap next.
- Now you will receive confirmation screen of your free iCloud account. Make sure to check it and then tap create. Now you have your free iCloud address.
- Next you need to create and verify the password you wish to use with your Apple ID and tap next to proceed.
- Now enter your security questions along with the answers. Make sure to remember it or take a note about it as you will need these security questions to reset your Apple password.
- Decide whether you want to receive email updates from Apple or not. Choose the switch you want then tap next.
- Agree to the Terms and Conditions and tap agree again.
- Decide whether you want to use iCloud or not. It is recommended to use iCloud as you can back up your contacts, calendars and photos. However, you can choose not to use iCloud as well.
- If you decide to use iCloud, you will get to Find My iPad service. You can learn more about it then tap next.
- Now you will need to set up Touch ID. The touch ID will help you to use your fingerprint in place of your passcode or password. You do this now or later.
- If you decide to set up your Touch ID now, simply put your finger onto the home button. Follow the instruction and wait ‘till the iPad scanned your fingerprint. When it does, you will see a success screen. Now Tap Continue to proceed.
- Now you will be asked to create a Passcode as a backup. Enter the passcode and enter it again to confirm.
- Now you will have option to use your Touch ID for Purchases, such as in the App Store. Tap this if you wish to.
- If you decide not to use the touch ID, then you will still be asked to secure your iPad Air 3 by setting up a passcode. If you wish to, you can choose the digit code. Make sure to remember the code as you will surely need it in emergency time.
- Next, you will enter iCloud Keychain screen. You can set it up now or later. This iCloud Keychain is a method of sharing your stored password and payment information across all your Apple devices.
- Now, it’s time for Siri set up. I am sure you will love your private assistant but you can also choose to skip this as well. However, it is recommended to activate your Siri as it will help you to search, send messages, check information, all without having to flick through individual apps.
- Next, you will go to feed back page. You can decide whether to feed information back to Apple or not. You can choose Automatically Send, or Don’t Send information to Apple. It’s up to you.
- Finally you will enter the home screen of your new iPad Air 3 as the setup is complete.
